Would you like to become a volunteer or obtain more information about becoming a volunteer to help support the Southport Wooden Boat Show? The SWBS is totally reliant upon a dedicated team of core volunteers we call our Event Committee, which meets, plans, and works throughout the year. We are also in need of volunteers during what we call event week, that Thursday thru the last Saturday in September when it all comes together. It could be for a 2 hour shift, ½ a day, or all day, it’s up to you. Help is needed in the following areas:

  • Education – Help presenters with demonstrations or activities
  • In-Water Event – Assist event staff at the in-water exhibitor boat area
  • Exhibitor/Vendor Support – Assist early event morning in getting Boat Exhibitors/Vendors in their proper location
  • Logistics – Help out before, during or after the actual event as the need emerges
  • Social – Help out with the Friday night Appreciation Reception and/or the Taste of Cape Fear Food Tent on Event day
  • Fundraising – Help obtain Financial and In-Kind donations throughout the year
  • Other – Help staff Information Booths, the Ships Store, and other areas as needed
